DAMAGE POLICY

FURNITURE ON MAIN guarantees that all furniture sold or purchased through our company, is brand new and in excellent condition. No furniture items are refurbished or used (unless stated) and come in original packaging from our vendors. We take extra measures in the delivering of these goods.

 

Furniture On Main - Damage Claims Policy

 

Most of Our items are handcrafted and will contain variations in finish, texture and color. These are not considered flaws or defects but characteristics of the piece.  Leather items will have different dye lots, and could result in a variation of the color pictured,  we can send leather samples, pictures, etc. of the exact leather before purchasing.  Reclaimed Wood pieces could have cracks, nail holes, etc. within the wood finish,  from the wood being repurposed. 

Inspect all cartons upon receipt and notate all damages/shortages on the delivery receipt. Damaged items must be reported within 5 days of the receipt of goods. This is required if a freight claim is to be filed with the carrier by their deadline.

 Please note the Carrier’s Delivery Receipt accordingly at the time of delivery:  

  • Excessive damage – Take photos, note damages on the delivery receipt and refuse with driver. 
  •  Visible damages – If there are visible damages that you are willing to accept, please note the damages on the delivery receipt. 
  • Shortages – Note known shortages on the delivery receipt. 
  •  Concealed damages/driver did not allow inspection – Please note did not inspect/suspect damages’ on delivery receipt. 

 

• Signing a delivery receipt without a pallet count or noted damages/shortages will result in denial of a claim from Us and the Freight Co.

 

• If no pictures are received, your claim will be placed on hold until received. 

 

• Authorized returns should be returned in the original carton and packing. Unauthorized returns will incur a 20% restocking fee and all freight. 

 

After a Claims Specialist reviews your claim, they will contact you via phone or e-mail. 

 

In Home Delivery - The In Home Delivery company will ask you to sign a BOL stating you received the item or items in good condition,  before signing please inspect to be sure that everything looks good,  no claims can be made against the Carrier if you or whomever is the responsible party for signing the delivery BOL is not made at the time of delivery.



FURNITURE ON MAIN  and its affiliates are not liable for any furniture damages when the customer uses their own contracted Freight Carrier. All items are inspected prior to leaving manufacturers and are in excellent and new condition. It is customer's responsibility to track freight, ensure condition of freight, and file any necessary claims. If there is a problem, we can also assist. Our fine furniture pieces are packaged very securely to minimize the possibility of damage. 

WARRANTY INFORMATION

Product warranties are provided by the manufacturer and are generally limited to defects in materials and craftsmanship. The manufacturer's warranty begins when the merchandise is delivered. FURNITURE ON MAIN provides no warranties either expressed or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. All such warranties are expressly and specifically disclaimed. FURNITURE ON MAIN shall not be responsible for any indirect, special or consequential damages. Customers that reside in "remote" or other areas not accessible by an authorized restoration center will be responsible for any trip and travel charges incurred in the warranty claim process.

 

MANUFACTURER DEFECT

If a manufacturer defect is found, we will make every attempt to submit the necessary information to the manufacturer for you to receive a repair or replacement according to the manufacturer's recommendation and warranty. FURNITURE ON MAIN will not and cannot be held liable for color variations in manufacturer or custom wood pieces due to stain or grain of wood types. FURNITURE ON MAIN reserves the right to repair any defects or damages if necessary.
